Private collection

 

18th century terracotta bust.

This bust is part of a private collection which had suffered previous unsympathetic and failed restorations. The client wished for the bust to be changed to look like marble because of its disfigured appearance. 

 

Consequently, the surface was cleaned, received an isolating layer and then a paint effect applied to the surface giving the appearance of marble. The bust was then able to be displayed in the house with the rest of the collection.
